David B. Clark, DDS, MSD

Dr. Clark

Meet Dr. Clark

Orthodontics presents an opportunity for me to provide positive change in our patients' lives as we work together to achieve their new smiles. I strive to provide the best outcomes with personalized treatments and take into account each patient’s requests concerning his or her treatment. I find great satisfaction sharing in the excitement of our patients at the conclusion of their treatment and watching their new-found pride in each terrific smile.

I chose to enter the oral health field over 25 years ago because I wanted to make an impact on my community in a way that blended my interest in science and art. Little did I know what a difference my patients would make in my own life. Working with so many unique people requires personalized treatment approaches and keeps each day different, interesting, and fun. Every person I meet gives me a new perspective on life and a greater appreciation for those around me.

Education and continuing education

My formal education began at Western Kentucky University where I earned my Bachelor of Science. I continued on to Indiana University School of Dentistry for my dental education, obtaining a Doctorate of Dental Surgery, a Certificate in Orthodontics, and a Master of Science in Dentistry. I also taught at Indiana University for ten years as an assistant professor of orthodontics.

Since I finished my formal training, the field of orthodontics has grown immensely, with new innovations and technology. I regularly take professional courses that enable me to apply the most current and effective treatment approaches and improve upon the techniques we currently use.

Outside the office

A native of Brownstown, Indiana, I have lived in Shelbyville over 25 years with my wife Bobbi. We have three daughters — Kaitlyn, Molly, and Jenna — as well as two dogs and three cats. My free time is spent staying active with water and snow skiing, cheering on Colts, Pacers, WKU, and IU sports, and being with my family.

As a member of the First United Methodist Church, I enjoy serving in various leadership positions and teaching Sunday School. I’ve also served in many posts with the Shelby County United Fund, including professional drive chairman, vice chairman, drive chairman, board member, and board president.
